Glucose-6-Phosphate Dehydogenase Deficiency (G6PD)

A condition in which red blood cells, which carry oxygen from the lungs to tissues throughout the body, break down when the body is exposed to certain drugs, foods, infections or stress. An X-linked condition (with a different inheritance pattern than the other, autosomal-recessive dieases).
