Chronic Granulomatous Disease [CYBA]: A genetically heterogeneous immunodeficiency disorder resulting from an inability of phagocytes to kill ingested microbes. This impairment in killing is caused by any of several defects in the NADPH oxidase enzyme complex which generates the microbicidal ‘respiratory burst’.
